If you need to raise and lower heavy materials while also being able to move them around your factory or warehouse, then a lift table might be just what you need. These units allow you to easily lift materials into position as well as moving materials around like you would with a hand truck. At Douglas Equipment we have been in the business of providing material handling equipment since 1955 and know the benefits that can be gained when you can use one piece of equipment for two jobs like you can with a lift table.
What is a Lift Table?
A lift table allows you to raise and lower a work piece for easy access when working or moving an item. A basic lift table will have a scissor lift or hydraulic lift that lowers the table to nearly the level of the floor so that large equipment can be easily placed on the table and then lifted in place.
Many models incorporate casters on the unit, which allows the operator to load the materials at a warehouse location, deliver the lift table cart to the work area, and then raise the table to easily move the heavy item from the table to working position at the machine. This can greatly reduce the health and safety risks associated with lifting the material by hand or even by crane.
Some tables even incorporate rollers on the tabletop to allow the material to be rolled off of the table and onto the work area. Another option available is a tabletop that will tilt for those occasions where you have an item that needs to be tilted in order to gain access to the contents.

What Lift Tables are Available at Douglas Equipment?
Scissor Lift Tables: These tables are great if you need to raise lighter loads that can be easily raised with a foot pump activating a scissor lift under the table. The one drawback of the scissor lift is that the lift mechanism prevents the table from moving over a shelf or table to make it easier to transfer the object from the lift table to the working table.
- Double Scissors High Lift Table Model LT-1760DSL: This basic steel construction lift table has table dimensions of 24” wide by 48” deep and the foot operated pump takes 97 strokes to lift to maximum height. The overall unit dimensions are width 24”, Height 37”, depth 58” with a weight of 430 pounds and a capacity of 1760 pounds. The lift table has 5” polyurethane casters for easy rolling. The back casters incorporate brakes to hold the table in position when required.
- Scissors Table with Roller Top Model DRT-2033: Another steel construction lift table that incorporates eight rollers onto the table for easily loading and unloading a container, but with two dual-position end stops to keep cargo in place. The unit dimensions are width 20.25”, height 38.25”, depth 43” with a weight of 210 pounds and a capacity of 660 pounds. The unit has 5” Mold-on polyurethane casters with brakes incorporated in the rear casters and a variable lowering speed valve for easy lowering of the load.
- Ergonomic Scissors Tilt Table Model STT1760: This all steel table allows an operator to feed and unload parts from an ergonomic position. When the unit is raised to the top it automatically tilts to a 45-degree angle at full elevation and a retaining lip keeps the container in place. Locking bars prevent accidental lowering of the table. The tabletop is 20” by 32” and the units dimensions are width 20”, height 63”, depth 42”, weight is 319 pounds with a load capacity of 1760 pounds. The unit incorporates 6” polyurethane casters with locking mechanisms on the rear casters.
Hydraulic Lift Tables: Hydraulic lift tables make it easier to load and unload containers as the hydraulic cylinder allows the tabletop to extend over a table to receive the container as long as there is enough room for the wheeled base underneath.
- Hydraulic Die Lift Table Model DT-2436: An all steel construction hydraulic lift table with a tabletop measuring 24” by 36” and hand-operated dual pad floor lock to keep the table in place when required. The overall unit dimensions are width 24”, height 36.75”, depth 49.5”, weight 265 pounds and a load capacity of 2000 pounds. The unit incorporates 5” Mold-on polyurethane casters and variable lowering speeds.
