RHOMBUS actually started in 1899 when the company started producing casters and wheels for pianos, a task that requires excellent load capabilities and extremely long life. By the mid-1930’s the company was supplying a wide range of casters for many different applications and uses. In the 1950s the company had emerged as one of the leaders in the caster industry. - 340a Swivel Caster: This apparatus caster is ideal for use on bedside cabinets, computer tables, display stands, file carts, small furniture, and many other applications. They are made of sheet steel with zinc passivation, and a swivel bearing with double ball race. The wheel is the 29G series with thermoplastic elastomer tire on a plastic wheel center and a solid bearing. Load capacities range from 88 lb to 143 lb for wheels with diameters of 2” to 5”.
- 360a Swivel Caster: This dual wheel apparatus caster is designed for use on computer furniture, deep freezers, photocopiers or shop fittings. The design is zinc plated sheet steel with a double ball race swivel bearing, and can include a brake. Various wheel materials are available, and the load capacities are 132 lb or 176 lb for wheel diameters of 2” and 3” respectively.
- 287 a Swivel Caster (or 287b with brake): These classic furniture casters are perfect for use on audio furniture, bedside tables, serving trolleys and small furniture. The housing and wheel are made of polyamide with zinc plated attachments and have a hard surface for soft floors. Load capacities range from 88 lb to 176 lb with wheel diameters of 2” to 5”.
- 2SL Swivel Caster: These heavy duty casters work hard on containers, forklifts, fork lift trucks, lift tables and machine constructions. They are high-load swivel casters with low total height incorporating a Nylon, Polyurethane or Steel twin wheel with a plain bearing. Load capacities range from 352 lb to 595 lb, with wheel diameters of only 2”.
- 390+q swivel caster with central brake (390+r with directional brake): These casters are meant for medical equipment such as Care beds, Hospital beds, Intensive care beds and OP beds. The zinc passivated sheet steel metal construction includes a double ball bearing in a swivel head with an up-to-date design in a high quality plastic cover. These casters can be cleaned in disinfecting cubicles, and are protected from dust and water. Load capacities are 220 lb for wheel diameters of 4” and 5”.
- 394a swivel caster (394h with brake mounted behind): Stainless steel casters for use in bakery oven units, catering equipment, food processing equipment and laundry carts. The stainless steel housing incorporates a double ball race swivel bearing for smooth movement (ball bearing are made of stainless steel as well). The units include the wheel series 29G which, have a thermoplastic elastomer tire on a plastic wheel center and a solid bearing. Load capacities range from 88 lb to 143 lb for wheels with diameters of 2” to 5”.
