Extra-heavy casters in the 10,000–44,000 lb range are specified for transformers, presses, machine bases, and aerospace tooling. At this capacity, the kingpin (vertical bolt holding traditional swivel raceways) becomes the failure point under shock loads — kingpin-less designs replace it with sealed double-ball-bearing raceways. Construction is forged steel throughout. Specifying these requires application engineering: tell us the load, the shock profile, and the floor type, and we engineer the right caster.

Common Applications
- Transformer, generator, and electrical-switchgear positioning
- Press dies and large machining-center transfers
- Aerospace airframe assembly tooling
- Foundry and steel-mill ladles, slag pots, ingot transfer
- Heavy-machine bases for plant relocations
When to Choose Extra-Heavy / Kingpin-less Casters
