What is a total-lock caster?

One pedal locks both the wheel rotation and the swivel, so the cart cannot roll or pivot. It is the standard for carts that must stay put next to a patient during a procedure.

Can I replace the casters on a cart from another vendor?

Usually yes. Send the stem type and diameter or the plate dimensions and we match a MedCaster or Shepherd equivalent. Keep the same wheel diameter to preserve cart height.

Which wheel is quietest on terrazzo and vinyl?

Soft polyurethane or thermoplastic rubber treads. Hard nylon is louder and can mark floors; we recommend it only for very heavy equipment.
